We're a bunch of damn coffee hippies. We reek of coffee and our passion is contagious. We tend to get pretty intense in everything we do. Whether it's snowboarding, Vespas, hoppy beer, photography and our favorite obsession: Coffee; the people of the 'Foot are completely and utterly into it. We love coffee and the amazing people in our global community that bring it to us. Barefoot keeps it simple; take great coffee, craft it with pride and passion, treat the whole coffee experience as a culinary art and operate sustainably from top to bottom. That's Barefoot. Great coffee hand crafted every step of the way by great people. It's freaking hard work to cultivate, process, source, roast and prepare great coffee. It'll make you sweat and your knuckles will bleed.

Barefoot is a happy little cafe and a bomb diggity roastery in the heart of the Bay Area. Barefoot's pretty stuck in the old ways of craftsmanship with hands and hearts beating computer chips any day. We work hard to bring great tasting coffee to our entire community. Sure, Barefoot has been showered with awards and accolades of late as the Barefoot difference is discovered and shared, but we are true to our roots of great coffee and happy people above all else. We are really serious about coffee and that makes us really happy people.

  Barefoot Coffee will be participating in Slow Food Nation in San Francisco from August 29 – September 1. Barefoot Coffee is one of only ten roasters from across the nation chosen to be part of the Coffee Tasting Pavilion within the pier at Fort Mason where guests can also sample Beer, Bread, Charcuterie, Cheese, Chocolate, Coffee, Fish, Honey & Preserves, Ice Cream, Native Foods, Olive Oil, Pickles & Chutney, Spirits, Tea and Wine from producers around the United States. Coffee lovers from Barefoot Coffee will also be volunteering throughout the event. To celebrate the event, Barefoot is bringing in Edwin Martinez from Finca Vista Hermosa in Guatemala to speak about growing coffee the Slow Food way.

  Slow Food Nation is a subsidiary non-profit of Slow Food USA and part of the international Slow Food movement. It was created to organize the first-ever American collaborative gathering to unite the growing sustainable food movement and introduce thousands of people to food that is good, clean and fair. The first annual event of Slow Food Nation takes place on Labor Day 2008 in San Francisco with enjoyable, accessible and educational activities for all Americans. Slow Food Nation is dedicated to creating a framework for deeper environmental connection to our food and aims to inspire and empower Americans to build a food system that is sustainable, healthy and delicious.
